What’s going on in European “Science with and for Society” networks? How will funding policies develop in the swafs field – and how can Eusea benefit from these developments?
Eusea members Markus Weißkopf, Annette Klinkert, Cissi Askwall and Leonardo Alfonsi will join a networking meeting in Brussels next week. “Opening Science to Society” is the title of an event on 15 November at the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the EU in Brussels.
The aim of the gathering is to provide input on the development of the SwafS programme and the way forward towards the next framework programme, beyond Horizon 2020. Discussions will focus on the role of the current programme and RRI, Responsible Research and Innovation, initiative, as well as the Open Science policy initiative. The event will also showcase on-going projects within Citizen Science, Public Engagement, Science Education, RRI and Gender, and will provide networking opportunities among SwafS stakeholders, national contact points, national representatives and Members of the European Parliament.

The event is organised by SiS.net, the international network of National Contact Points (NCPs) for Science with and for Society in Horizon 2020, together with the Swedish National Advocacy Platform for Science with and for society (SwafS), a collaborative platform of some fifty actors with expertise knowledge related to the SwafS field.
