#EUSEA26 – Pre Conference Fun
EUSEA descended on Luxembourg for our 25th birthday celebration, and the aptly, if slightly misaligned, named #EUSEA26 conference. While the formalities officially opened a day later, one of the most important parts of any EUSEA conference is the time it creates: for old friendships to be rekindled, and new ones to take root. So we were delighted to see so many of you join us for the pre-conference day on 19 May.
With the EUSEA team busy working behind the scenes, we left you in the very capable hands of our Luxembourg-based colleagues, Jean-Paul and Didder, perfectly placed to give you a taste of everything this remarkable little country has to offer.
In the morning, a group of us made our way to the Luxembourg Science Centre, priming our minds for the days ahead with hands-on exhibitions and playful discovery, or simply taking a quiet moment to unwind in the planetarium.
The afternoon brought us into the heart of Luxembourg City, where we soaked up the sights, culture, and history of this beautifully preserved medieval city, whether that meant exploring the Natural History Museum or getting our step in on a guided city walk.
By evening, the rest of the EUSEA team was finally free to join in, and we rounded off the day in fittingly atmospheric style: descending into the gorge at the heart of the city for a pre-conference aperitif at the Brasserie Abtei, tucked inside the historic Abbaye Neumünster.
It was truly wonderful to see so many of you there. This time together, unhurried and unscheduled with no sessions to dash between or breaks cut short, is something we treasure. Just good conversation, in good company, no screens required.
