EUSEA Director, Annette Klinkert, Participates in a Panel at Science Forum South Africa 2023

Invited by the South African Association for Science and Technology, SAASTA, EUSEA Director Annette Klinkert participated in a hybrid panel discussion at the Science Forum South Africa 2023.

The session, titled “Exploring the Science-Society Interface in Science Museums,” was held on 7 December 2023 at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria. Annette Klinkert presented EUSEA and recent developments in European Public Engagement Policies.

The Science Forum South Africa 2023, held from 6 to 8 December, served as a prominent event providing a public platform for robust discussions on the science and society interface. This year’s theme, “Igniting Conversations about Science – People, Partnerships, and Priorities for the Decadal Plan,” set the stage for engaging conversations among a diverse group of participants, including scientists, students, public and private sector representatives, and civil society constituents.

The panel session on “Science Centres’ Impact in Science, Technology, and Innovation in Africa and Beyond” aimed to foster discussion on the significance of science centers/museums for science and society. The panel included experts and stakeholders from various organizations, each offering a unique perspective.
