What’s on the menu?
As some of you may already know, after 2021 the British Council will no longer be the International Partner of FameLab. FameLab will therefore be losing in-country human and financial support for the programme in up to 30 countries.
However this shake up could provide an opportunity to refresh the programme, to ensure that FameLab is meeting the needs of science researchers. In collaboration with Cheltenham Festivals, the creator and producer of FameLab, EUSEA is inviting FameLab organisers from around the globe to join us for an extra special EUSEA HotPot!
Who’s in the Kitchen?
In this special event, we are joined by FameLab organisers from around the world, to talk about the different FameLab models used in Italy, Germany and South Africa, and the opportunities and challanges these have created.
Featuring:
An introduction from Elspeth Kenny – (Cheltenham Science Festivals)- FameLab UK
and contributions from
Leonardo Alfonsi– (Psiquadro)- FameLab Italy
Sissy-Christin Lorenz (Bielefeld Marketing)- FameLab Germany
Robert Inglis (Jive Media Africa) and Joanne Riley (SAASTA)- FameLab South Africa
Moderated by Christopher Styles– EUSEA
What can you bring to the table?
FameLab was first developed to find the new ‘voices of science communication’, but now focus has shifted to providing training and opportunities for researchers to improve their science communication skills and networks. While other science communication programmes have been developed, no other programme provides progression through a training and competition programme and the creation of such a unique international science communication community.
Does Famelab need to return to its roots? Or does it need to develop into something new? What do you think?
Would you like to book your spot at the table?
