Are you interested in joining a Eusea Board member on a trip to Shangai in August?
The Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV, the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality and the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum are inviting two Eusea members to join the Fourth Shanghai International Popular Science Products Expo. Please find some information on this event and the required qualifications below. All costs will be covered by the inviting hosts, including international flights.
If you are interested in joining this trip, and if you can make it from August 25 to 28 this year, please send us a short application until the end of this week (9 June) to annette.klinkert@eusea.info. The Eusea Board will select the best candidate until early next week.

- Why I would like to join the trip to Sanghai
- What I can offer in terms of relevant expertise or experiences

As an effort to speed up the progress of becoming a global influence in science and technology innovation, vigorously boost the strategy of innovation driven development, and energetically develop youth science and technology innovation talents, the Fourth Shanghai International Popular Science Products Expo will be co-hosted by the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV, the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality and the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum on August 25-28, 2017.
This year’s Expo’s theme will be “Smart City- Makes Life Better”. The Expo is aimed to popularize knowledge of innovative science and technology, develop characteristics in youths’ innovation, and promote the development of creative industries, in order to build an active “mass entrepreneurship, popular innovation” environment around society.
In 2016, The Third Shanghai International Popular Science Products Expo was held on September 16-19 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. The exhibition attracted a total of more than 180 organizations from over 10 countries, about 100,000 visitors from more than 10 provinces and cities, and totaled more than $200 million from transactions and. The Expo was well received by exhibitors as well as the general public. Currently the Fourth Shanghai International Popular Science Products Expo has gathered a total of more than 150 companies and organizations, over 3,000 various kinds of latest sci-tech exhibits, and is expected to attract more than 110,000 visitors. In addition, during the exhibition there will also an international innovation contest, city development forum and other themed activities. Experts and scholars will be giving speeches and presentations. Websites like Sina, Tencent and Baidu will be following this event online while mainstream media such as TV stations, radio stations, and newspapers will also be reporting on the Expo. Through a spectacular exhibition filled with wonderful activities, we hope to create a professional and large-scale Expo with international influence.
Therefore, the Fourth Shanghai International Popular Science Products Expo Committee cordially invite The European Science Events Association to send 2 senior experts. To participate in the promotion of civic scientific quality discussion, youth innovation talent dialogue and youth innovation and development activities for young people to carry out a unique innovation and technology “storm”, develops innovative formats of science communication. we will also sign a cooperation agreement, is committed to jointly strengthen and promote international science and technology exchanges. If agreed upon, on behalf of the 25 million Shanghai residents, we warmly welcome your experts as important guests to attend our Expo. We will cover travel costs including round-trip economy class tickets, airport pick-up and drop-off, standard hotel accommodation and meal costs covering the three days.
