How can Science Festivals continue in times of a global pandemic?

BGNSF is a non-profit, professional international science communication network co-sponsored and voluntarily formed by dozens of influential science communication agencies across the world, under the initiative of Beijing Association for Science and Technology, BAST.

The BGNSF offers a plattform by inviting members to join the following networking activities:

  • Annual Beijing International Science Festival Roundtable Conference. The conference, consisting of meetings, parallel sessions, an academic forum, seminars and training sessions, brings together worldwide science festival organizations, governmental agencies and science museums, to explore ways to strengthen international cooperation and exchanges on science communication.
  • Annual Beijing International Symposium on Science Communication. The symposium invites foreign experts to share their new methods and practical experiences, concepts and methodologies in science communication.
  • Beijing International Expo of Science Popularization Resources, which aims to boost the integrative development of science popularization resources for professionals.
  • Facilitating the exchange of exhibitions and other programs between members.
  • Arranging staff exchanges and study visits to encourage the sharing of knowledges and skills between members.
  • Sharing information on the wide range of activities of member organizations.
  • Liaising with other networks and organizations for the mutual benefit of strengthening the role and impact of science festivals in furthering the public understanding of science and technology
  • Providing global solutions and decision-making support in fields such as science communication, innovative planning, talent training and organization .

The annual Beijing International Science Festival Roundtable Conference is the primary opportunity to meet, network, share information and do business with industrial partners in the region and beyond. This conference is hosted by BAST each year.
