We are delighted to announce that Ilia State University, located in the vibrant and ancient city of Tbilisi, will be hosting the Annual Conference of the European Science Engagement Association (EUSEA) in 2024. Known as the bridge between Europe and Asia, Georgia offers a unique backdrop for this gathering of science engagement professionals from across the continent.
Discover Georgia: A Land of Cultural Heritage and Hospitality
Situated at the eastern end of the Black Sea, Georgia boasts a rich history and diverse cultural heritage. With its picturesque landscapes, including majestic mountains and the winding Mtkvari River, Tbilisi captivates visitors with its ancient charm.
Immerse yourself in the historic Old Town, where cobbled streets wind through pastel-colored wooden houses adorned with intricate balconies. Don’t miss the chance to experience the rejuvenating Sulfur Baths, an elegant and distinctive feature of Old Tbilisi. Georgia’s warm and authentic hospitality will make your stay truly memorable.
A Dynamic Scientific Hub: Ilia State University
The conference will take place at Ilia State University (ISU), one of Georgia’s leading research and educational institutions. ISU is a flagship public research and comprehensive higher education institution that was established in 2006 as a merger of six different institutions, each having a long history and a diverse institutional profile. Its schools offer distinctive training in their respective direction and in-depth research opportunity in social sciences, humanities, life sciences, earth sciences, and hard sciences. With the highest competition rate for PhD programs in the nation, approximately 16,500 students, 988 highly qualified academic staff, and renovated research infrastructure in several of Georgia’s regions (including over 30 large and small-scale research institutes, centres and stations), ISU has become one of the most desirable universities to study and work for in the country over the last 10 years.
