Wissenschaft im Dialog gGmbH

Charlottenstraße 80, D-10117 Berlin

Wissenschaft im Dialog (Science in Dialogue) is Germany's centre of expertise for science communication. The initiative was founded in the year 2000 by the major German research organisations, the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, and the Donors’ Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities in Germany with the goal of strengthening dialogue between science and society.

Wissenschaft im Dialog organises exhibitions, science fairs and symposia through which it promotes discussion and the exchange of ideas surrounding research in Germany. We encourage dialogue between those who carry out research and those who profit from its results and maintain it, because science and research have an undeniable effect on the living conditions and culture of our society. In order to ensure public involvement in scientific and technological development, Wissenschaft im Dialog initiates discussions between schoolchildren, students, adults and scientists. We invite all those interested to exhibitions, film festivals, science shows or Science Nights, and encourage a debate with researchers in order that they may learn from one another and share information. We want to create understanding and trust, stimulate curiosity and generate a fascination for research - in children, young people and adults.

The initiative Wissenschaft im Dialog serves scientists and professional communicators as a network and platform for the exchange of best practice examples. On our website and at special events we provide an overview of modern science communication methods for target groups ranging from children to scientists.
