The University of Glasgow is a public research university in Glasgow, Scotland. Founded by papal bull in 1451, it is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's four ancient universities.
The University has a strong reputation for public and civic engagement and currently investing in a significant Campus Development which places collaboration and engagement at its core. The University is also the largest contributor to the annual European Researchers' Night Scotland (EXPLORATHON) and hosts the team delivering the annual Glasgow Science Festival.
