Lublin Science Festival

The history of the Lublin Science Festival goes back to the beginning of the 20th century. The first edition took place on October 4-7, 2001 and was initiated by Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Three years later, on May 21, 2004, the Rectors of five Lublin Universities together with the Director of the Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences signed a declaration at the headquarters of the Lublin Scientific Society, in which they established the Lublin Science Festival as a cyclical event popularizing science in society. Today, the Lublin Science Festival is one of the three largest science festivals in Poland. Over more than two decades, more than 20,000 research, educational, and artistic projects have been submitted and presented, attracting over 700,000 participants.

The 22nd edition of the Lublin Science Festival will take place from 19 to 25 September 2026, under the theme „Curiosity as the vis vitalis of science”. The main organizer of the event is Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.
