Home to Bulgaria's largest and oldest science festivals, the Beautiful Science Foundation is the country's most prominent science engagement and outreach organisation. It runs the Sofia Science Festival, established in 2011 by the British Council and Forum Democrit as the first science event in Bulgaria and later transferred in 2022 to the Foundation, later joined by the newly established Varna Science Festival (2022), Plovdiv Science Festival (2023) and Travelling Science Festival (2024). The Beautiful Science Foundation runs FameLab in Bulgaria, offers trainings, consultancies on outreach events, develops resources for schools, engages in citizen science initiatives, and more. We initiate and take part in local and international programmes, and work with research and academic institutions, public and government bodies, international, corporate and media partners.
